YouthAction Northern Ireland (YANI) is committed to making our website accessible and inclusive for all users, regardless of ability or technology.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. That means you should be able to:
- Zoom in up to 300% without loss of content or functionality
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- Use screen readers (such as JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver) effectively
- Understand content written in plain, simple English wherever possible
How We Support Accessibility
We aim to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA standard through:
- Semantic HTML and ARIA labels for screen reader compatibility
- Clear and consistent navigation
- High-contrast colours and legible fonts
- Alt text for all meaningful images
- Responsive design for mobile and tablet users
- Descriptive link text and accessible forms
What We’re Working On
We know some parts of our website may not yet be fully accessible. We are currently working to:
- Ensure PDF and downloadable resources are screen reader-friendly
- Improve keyboard navigation in interactive elements (e.g. forms, embedded content)
- Provide transcripts or captions for all video content
If you experience any issues or need content in an alternative format, we are here to help.
