Introduction to Work With Young Women
Gender Equality Unit Invites you to attend our Introduction to work with young women
Work with young women and young mothers are priority areas of work for the organisation. We aim to encourage young women to value themselves, develop their abilities and potential and help them understand and challenge the prejudice which they encounter in their lives.
This programme provides participants with the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in youth work and greater understanding of working with young women and young mothers.
The programme aims to provide the participants with the basic skills,
Knowledge and experience required to work with young people and more specifically young women in a youth work setting.
It will include opportunities to consider personal attitudes and approaches as well as exploring the attributes required to work effectively and safely with young women
This programme will include 3 elements of training:
1: NIOCN in youth work training
2: principles of youth work and work with young women
3: Issues focussed workshops: exploring themes such as
Peace building and employability
Introduction to Youth work NOCN Level 2
Description:
This is a course which gives learners the opportunity to explore and develop basic skills and knowledge to work with young people.
The course is made up of one full unit and key areas covered include:
&bull Values and principles of youth work
&bull Communicating with Young people
&bull Child Protection
&bull Leadership
Who is it for: The course is aimed at young women aged 18 and 25 years.
Duration of course: Part-time, 30 hours, training alongside a requirement of a minimum of 20 hours supervised work with young women in a youth work setting.
26th -30th July 2010 9.30 am &ndash 4.30 pm
19th &ndash 21st August 9.30 am &ndash 4.30 pm
