Some exciting news about one of our Patrons, Ciaran Hinds. Last year Ciaran scooped the Best Actor Award for his performance as Michael Farr in the film 'The Eclipse&rsquo at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York city.
This year, Ciaran was nominated for best actor in a lead role for his part in 'The Eclipse&rsquo at the Irish Film and Television Awards. He also was recently awarded a prestigious Volta Award (Career Achievement Award) at the 8th Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
'The Eclipse&rsquo is a romantic ghost story written by Conor McPherson and Billy Roache.
The story of widower Michael, who, in an effort to find solace over the death of his wife, befriends Lena Morelle, a writer who specialises in the supernatural, during a literary festival in Wexford. Events spiral towards the paranormal when Michael finds himself confronted by strange visions. Irish audiences will have an opportunity to see 'The Eclipse&rsquo when it is broadcast on RTE 1 later this year
Ciaran will also feature in the next Harry Potter film as Aberforth Dumbledore, the gruff younger brother of Hogwarts beloved principal Albus Dumbledore. 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows 1&rsquo is due for release in November 2010.
