Equality Work with Young Women

Champions for Change- Young Women Politics, Leadership and Peace Building

Champions for Change Project

'Champions for Change' encourages young women to explore their experiences of living in Northern Ireland. It creates opportunities to explore the relevance of gender and peace building and begins to help them make personal connections to their lives. They are encouraged to view themselves as 'champions for change' developing their confidence and skills as role models and active citizens in their communities. This project encourages young women to break through stereotypes, breaking politeness and apathy that many young women experience. Young women start to become switched on to issues and inequalities igniting their desire to work towards social change and a more peaceful and stable future in Northern Ireland.
