YouthAction Northern Ireland has invested in the Newry and Armagh area over a number of years, working in partnership with the statutory youth service, voluntary and community organisations. This investment has seen the delivery of a broad range of vocational and pre-vocational training programmes with young mothers, personal development programmes with young women, work with rural young people, community leadership programmes and the delivery of an action research project targeting young people living in border areas.

YouthAction Northern Ireland has a long established relationship with the Southern Education & Library Board in the development and delivery of tailored youth work programmes. The Newry and Armagh Area Based Strategy will seek to build on and consolidate such relationships. We have also worked closely with ROSA to engage young people in rural regeneration and delivered programmes in partnership with schools, Health Action Zones and various voluntary and community groups.
