The Training Unit offers training and accreditation for young people
and emerging community leaders.
It works to promote:
• Leadership – developing the skills and
potential of volunteers and part time youth workers.
• Community Development – working in partnership
to develop the skills and capacity of local communities.
• Peacebuilding – contributing to building
a stable and peaceful society.
The Training Unit has been delivering accredited youth work training since
1984. We are licensed by the Youth Work Training Board for Northern Ireland
to deliver a range of youth work courses. We are an approved centre with
the following awarding bodies
• City & Guilds
• OCNNI
• OCR
• ASDAN
All courses are flexible in design and delivery working with learners
and local partners to ensure their needs are fully met. Our approach and
methods are based on core youth work values and principles.
